G6PD Deficiency

G6PD Deficiency, a genetic disorder affecting red blood cells, impairs the enzyme glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase. This deficiency can cause haemolytic anaemia in response to certain medications, infections, or foods like fava beans. G6PD Deficiency is commonly inherited and more prevalent in males due to its X-linked recessive inheritance pattern.
