Microscopic Colitis

Microscopic colitis is an inflammatory bowel disease characterised by chronic, non-bloody diarrhoea. It includes two subtypes: collagenous colitis and lymphocytic colitis. Diagnosis usually requires a colonoscopy with biopsy, as microscopic colitis isn't visible during standard imaging. Treatment often involves medications such as anti-diarrhoeals and steroids.
