Nissen fundoplication is a surgical procedure used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). In this procedure, the top part of the stomach is wrapped around the lower oesophagus to strengthen the valve between the oesophagus and stomach, preventing acid reflux. Nissen fundoplication is highly effective for long-term relief.
