What Is Mono
Mononucleosis, commonly known as mono, is a viral infection caused by the Epstein-Barr virus. Symptoms include fatigue, fever, sore throat, and swollen lymph nodes. Mono primarily spreads through saliva and is sometimes referred to as the "kissing disease." Recovery typically requires rest and hydration, with no specific antiviral treatment available.
