Yaws
Yaws is a chronic bacterial infection caused by Treponema pallidum pertenue. Predominantly affecting children in tropical areas, yaws manifests with skin lesions and, if untreated, progresses to bone deformities. Transmission occurs through direct skin contact with infectious lesions. Early diagnosis and treatment with antibiotics are crucial.
