Barrett's Oesophagus

Barrett's Oesophagus is a condition where the tissue lining the oesophagus is replaced by tissue similar to the intestinal lining. Often linked to chronic gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD), Barrett's Oesophagus increases the risk of developing oesophageal adenocarcinoma. Diagnosis requires endoscopy and biopsy, with regular monitoring recommended.
