Herpes
Herpes is a viral infection caused by herpes simplex viruses (HSV-1 and HSV-2). It leads to sores primarily around the mouth or genitals. Herpes is highly contagious, with transmission occurring through direct contact with an infected person. Currently, there is no cure for herpes, but antiviral medications can manage symptoms.
