Dr Martin Team
Founder & GP
Dr Martin Saweirs
I’m Dr Martin Saweirs, the founder of Dr Martin - Private General Practitioners. To my mind, medicine doesn’t need to be complicated. I take great pride in my brand of straightforward, comprehensive and approachable medicine, and it is something I know my patients value too. My father was a Care of The Elderly Consultant, and I grew up with a continual association to the world of medicine. I accompanied him during work-experience as a teenager, and to this day I vividly remember the heartfelt care he showed for patients, relatives and staff alike. In fact, despite his retirement nearly 20 years ago I still see his colleagues in our hometown who warmly recall these wonderful qualities I so admire and try to emulate. My father inspired me to follow in his footsteps, and I studied medicine at The University of Edinburgh. During this time I also attained a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and Infection. After qualifying in 2009 I moved to London to start life as a junior doctor. Lots of busy jobs in numerous West London teaching hospitals have given me extensive exposure and hands-on involvement across a full scope of specialities, including: general medicine, surgery, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, and psychiatry. It was this huge variety that first piqued my interest in general practice, and working as a GP as a junior doctor sealed the decision for me. It was the unique position of having your own group of patients, and making a tangible difference to their lives that appealed to me most about this career. My training on the highly regarded Riverside GP scheme based in Chelsea gave me invaluable experience, and led to my becoming a Member of The Royal College of General Practitioners in 2014. In 2018, I pursued one of my chief interests - achieving a Distinction in the Postgraduate Diploma in Dermatology at Queen Mary University, London. Outside of work, I love spending my time cycling, going to watch The Arsenal (sorry Spurs fans!) and spending time with my two little girls, currently aged 5 and 8.
GP
Dr Baldeep Syan
I’m Dr Baldeep Syan, a caring and compassionate GP based in West London. My approach to General Practice and health care has always been patient-centered and I believe holistic care is key to effective family medicine. Prior to becoming a doctor, I trained and worked as a qualified Physiotherapist. After completing my medicine degree at The University of Leicester in 2011, I spent my junior doctor years training in West London hospitals, where I developed a broad range of experience in wide variety of medical specialties. I completed my GP training on Riverside GP Training scheme based at Chelsea, where I gained dual membership to both the Royal College of Physicians in 2016 and the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2019. I currently divide my time between Private and NHS General Practice. I have a specialist interest in Cancer, and in my NHS role I work within the Rapid Diagnostic Centre for Cancer at West Middlesex Hospital and as the Lung Cancer Screening Lead for North West London. This varied role allows me to constantly challenge my diagnostic skills with complex medical issues - skills which I bring to Private Practice as a holistic GP. Along with Oncology, I have a keen interest in Dermatology, Women’s Health, and Paediatrics. Outside of work, I enjoy yoga, cooking, and spending time with my young family.
GP
Dr Chantelle Wildman
I’m Dr Chantelle Wildman, a friendly and empathetic GP with a passion for providing high quality patient care. I particularly enjoy Women’s Health and have a special interest in Menopause, as well as Paediatrics and Mental Health and Wellbeing. My association with medicine began over 20 years ago and my career to date has been very varied. Having gained a First Class Honours degree in Biomedical Science from The University of Birmingham in 2001, I initially worked in the Pharmaceutical Industry, prior to completing my Medical degree at Barts and The Royal London Hospital in 2007. Working as a junior doctor in numerous London Teaching hospitals, I gained both exposure and experience in a wide variety of medical and surgical specialities, which sparked my interest in providing Acute medical care. I went on to undertake training in both Emergency Medicine and Anaesthetics, which I did for a further 3 years before embarking upon GP training. I qualified as a GP from the renowned St Mary’s Hospital GP Training scheme in 2018. Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time with my two young daughters, cooking and reading.
GP
Dr Reena Solani
My name is Dr. Reena Solani, and I am thrilled to have recently joined as a general practitioner with Dr. Martin, Private General Practitioners. I completed my medical school training at Brighton and Sussex Medical school prior to specialising into General Practice at Kings College London. After completing GP training in 2015, I worked in General Practice in South East London and as a forensic medical examiner in sexual health. I found this work incredibly rewarding and drove my passion to continue to broaden my knowledge in this space by achieving a Diploma of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health. With nearly a decade of experience in the field, ranging from private practice and the NHS, I am dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to my patients. I am well-versed in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of medical conditions, and I stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in medicine to ensure that my patients receive the best possible care. I believe in taking a holistic approach to healthcare and I encourage my patients to be active in their own health and take an active role in maintaining their well-being. Outside of work, I am passionate about travelling, exploring food culture and unleashing the inner child within me with my kids at the end of the day. I am currently accepting new patients and I am excited to join an incredible team.
GP; MSK & Pain Specialist
Dr Imran Sajid
Whilst finding general medicine deeply rewarding, my additional clinical qualifications include psychology, psychiatry, musculoskeletal care, exercise and pain medicine, all of which profoundly enhance my approach. I have particular expertise in the care of new or chronic pain conditions, for example, joint problems or headaches, as well as long-term condition management, particularly for those with multiple health conditions, and supporting individuals suffering difficulties in their emotional wellbeing. With a research interest in diagnostics, I have a unique understanding of testing science. For example, utilising Bayesian reasoning to avoid over-medicalisation or unnecessary worry for patients from results. I am also a qualified fitness instructor. I believe clinicians should aim to understand people's individual values and concerns, whilst sharing the latest evidence behind the available choices, framing the benefits and risks in an understandable manner. I value the importance of empowering individuals to attain a sense of chronic wellness and to develop their innate adaptability to overcome the inevitable challenges of life. My clinical work spans both primary and community care, including urgent care and rapid response teams. I spent much of the Covid-19 pandemic working in a Covid-19 acute care unit. Experienced in high-resource systems, I have also fortuitously worked with, taught and learnt from individuals across a plurality of cultures and demographics globally, including deployment in low-resource settings, such as humanitarian work in Rwanda. I strongly believe in the value of continuity of care with the same, familiar physician, and the role of supporting patients to navigate the complexity of the healthcare system.

Most of us struggle with difficulties from time to time and challenges are a normal part of life. We often manage them effectively but there can be times when we feel overwhelmed or unable to cope as well as we might like. Therapy isn’t about giving advice, it’s about helping you navigate your own way through your difficulties. I believe that the power to make changes and to grow lies within you and therapy simply provides the tools to help you feel empowered to make those changes. My Approach Although trained in a variety of therapeutic models, I recognise that there isn’t a one size fits all approach to treatment. Integrating evidence based practice that is tailored to you underpins the therapeutic experience. Most Importantly you are actually the expert on you and your autonomy in treatment is foremost, working at your pace with your focus. We may explore how your thoughts and behaviours are leaving you feeling, considering how we can change this for the better and we may reflect on how past relationships and patterns of relating are hindering you in the present. Sometimes therapy sessions can be very structured with tasks to complete outside the session. Other times therapy can be more fluid and explorative depending on your objectives and what you want to achieve. However we work there is always a focus on being kinder, more compassionate and empowered with yourself. My Experience I was a consultant psychologist in the NHS for over 10 years leading HIV Psychology services and sexual health (sexual orientation, gender and addiction). In addition to this I have extensive experience working with corporate services across a range of industries (Banking, Finance, Legal, Insurance and Tech) providing psychological services to employees and leadership teams. Within this work I have gained a particular interest in perfectionism, performance anxiety and issues of control. Motivation I am extremely passionate about what I do and I am fascinated by the human experience. I feel truly fortunate to have worked with and continue to work with amazing people who have trusted me and given me the privilege of sharing their stories with me. No one’s experience is the same and I’m hugely grateful to all the people I have met in my work who let me grow and learn with them.
Adult Psychologist
Hayley Melin
My Philosophy Nowadays we have so much more to compare ourselves to. Shiny images and happy stories all across the media, plus the glowing images of people in our circle, with fulfilled lives–to our eyes at least–that we struggle to match up to. Compare that to our hunter-gatherer pasts, when the only role models we had were of the people in our local band, a group of people very similar to ourselves and to whom our relationships were clear and unchanging. And more than that, the modern world offers no end of immediately gratifying stimulation, all of it fine-tuned to act as a ‘super-stimulus’ to one or other of our senses. So much so that many of us lose whatever skill we had in delaying gratification, a skill essential to planning for a better future. My Approach Therapy is a place for you to be completely true to yourself, giving you time to talk, cry, shout as well as to think and reflect. And it’s my job to gain your trust and so allow all that to happen, accepting you totally as you are with no cloud of judgement. It’s definitely not about gazing back over your life and analysing every little thing that’s gone wrong for you in the past. Instead, our focus will be firmly on the future, on how you want to be, and how you want to feel, next week, next month, and next year. I work predominantly within a cognitive behavioural approach, or CBT. The C is about understanding any ‘thinking styles’ which may be keeping us stuck in life, while the B emphasises any positive behavioural changes we need to learn, at the same time un-learning unhelpful behaviours that keep holding us back. But making change implies taking action — actions you’ve been avoiding, or a novel approach we may formulate during therapy — and taking action inevitably entails anxiety. But it’s our relationship to that anxiety which matters, ‘observing’ and understanding it — as opposed to always being caught up in it — and seeing it as a transient emotion, knowing that what goes up always comes down. My Experience With over 15 years experience Hayley has worked in both private practice and the NHS. I am a Consultant Chartered Counselling Psychologist and an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society. As well as my private work, I also have considerable experience as a psychologist in two NHS trusts. Together with my work in general adult mental health, I specialise in addictions and eating disorders. I spent many years heading up the psychology addictions service in Haringey as well as working within a community eating disorder service.

My training and experience cover a broad range of therapeutic approaches, including cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, systemic therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and CBT-I (a specialist intervention for sleep disorders) among other evidence-based modalities. I am also trained in eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR), which is an effective treatment for trauma-related disorders. I have a special interest in working with neuro-developmental conditions and have extensive experience of providing assessment and psychological support for individuals with autism and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). I have addtionally trained in the administration and interpretation of assessments, such as the ADOS, for autism spectrum disorders.
