Mr Jonathan Lucas

Mr Jonathan Lucas was appointed as consultant orthopaedic and spinal consultant to Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals (GSTT) in 1999, then appointed as lead clinician for spinal surgery at Guy’s and St Thomas’ and Evelina London Children’s Hospital in 2006 and since 2019 is Head of Service for Paediatric Orthopaedic and Spinal Surgery at the Evelina London Children's Hospital, GSTT and lead clinician for the Portland Scoliosis and Spinal Surgery Centre . His specialist interest is the management and surgery of Paedaitric and Young Adult Spinal Pathology, including surgery for scoliosis and kyphosis, spondlylolisthesis/spodylolysis, disc pathology with back and sciatic pain, paediatric spinal trauma, tumour, and infection/sepsis. pain. Mr Lucas has performed over 1058 paediatric scolisosis and kyphosis operations to date. Qualifying from St Thomas` Hospital Medical School and London University, Mr Lucas gained the FRCS (Orth&Tr) in 1998, undertaking his Orthopaedic Training as part of the South-East Thames Higher Surgical Orthopaedic Training Program. He then undertook specialized Spinal Surgical Training as a Spinal Fellow at the Centre for Spinal Surgery, Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham, completing his spinal training as a British Orthopaedic Association Travelling fellowship to renowned centres in the USA. He was appointed to the staff as a Consultant Orthopaedic and Spinal Surgeon to Guys and St Thomas` NHS Foundation in October 1999 and has subsequently specialised further to be a dedicated Spinal Surgeon, becoming Lead Clinician for Spinal Surgery in 2006, and subsequently refining his specialism to the management of conditions of the paediatric and young adult spine. Mr Lucas has performed over 1058 scoliosis and kyphosis operations to date.

Mr Mark Harris

Mr Mark Harris is a spinal surgeon who specialises in the management of children's and young persons spinal conditions. He is a consultant at Great Ormond Street Hospital for sick children and at Guys and St Thomas' and the Evelina Children's Hospital. These are internationally acclaimed specialist children's hospitals that receive tertiary referrals both nationally and internationally and provide a full range of children's services. As such Mr Harris cares for children with the most complex spinal and medical problems. This complexity in combination with his high volume practice (120+ deformity correction operations per year) means his patients benefit from his extensive experience in treating children's spinal conditions. He graduated with BSc. Medical Science from the University of St Andrews and completed his medical training, MB ChB, at the University of Manchester in 2003. His surgical training was centred in London and he held positions in several university teaching hospitals including Chelsea and Westminster, Royal National Orthopaedic, Royal Free, Royal London, St Georges, and Guys and St Thomas' Hospitals. He trained on the South West Thames Trauma and Orthopaedic rotation during which he became a fellow of the Royal college of Surgeons. In addition to his higher surgical training he completed two years of subspecialist spinal surgical fellowships at St Georges University hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital for sick children.

Mr Stewart Tucker

Mr Stewart Tucker is a Consultant Spinal Surgeon based in London, UK. In 1998 he successfully completed his MBBS at the Middlesex Hospital, UCL and later went onto undertake his FRCS at the Royal College of Surgeons England. He has a specialist interest in both childhood and adult scoliosis/kyphosis, degenerative cervical and lumbar disease, spinal trauma and spinal tumours, and complex revision spinal surgery. Mr Tucker is an elected member of Harms Study Group for Scoliosis as well as a member of the British Scoliosis Society. He is a respected member of the Scoliosis Research Society, British Orthopaedic Association and British Cervical Spine Society.

Mr Thomas Ember

Mr Tom Ember qualified from St George's Hospital Medical School (University of London). He undertook specialist training at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (Stanmore). His Spinal Fellowship was at Great Ormond Street Hospital and The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. His current NHS appointment as a Consultant Orthopaedic and Spinal Surgeon is at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children.
