Cervical Rib

A cervical rib is an extra rib arising from the seventh cervical vertebra. This congenital anomaly occurs in approximately 0.5% to 1% of the population. Symptoms may include neck pain or neurological issues due to nerve compression. Diagnosis typically involves imaging studies, and treatment varies based on symptom severity. Complications such as thoracic outlet syndrome may occur as a result of this congenital anomaly.
