Sport and Exercise Medicine Consultant

Dr Craig Sheridan

MBChB BSC(Hons) MRCGP MScdipSEM MFSEM Dr Sheridan is a sports, exercise and musculoskeletal medicine consultant. Dr Sheridan has a particular interest in musculoskeletal ultrasound, which enables him to provide the best care possible for his patients, both in terms of his diagnostic approach and treatment recommendations. He is able to offer bedside diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound and ultrasound-guided injections to help determine the specific site of pain and so refine treatment. Patients most likely to benefit from an assessment with Dr Sheridan include those with acute, chronic or degenerative joint and soft tissue conditions, particularly when looking to avoid or not yet requiring surgery; those suffering with chronic pain; recreational or elite athletes requiring injury diagnosis or guidance on exercise rehabilitation; and the ‘industrial athlete’ who’s physical work requirements necessitate an efficient, accurate diagnosis alongside timely and effective treatment. He works in professional sport, NHS and military services and at Blackberry Clinic Ipswich. He uses this broad and unique experience to enhance the care he provides for his patients, both in terms of his diagnostic approach and his treatment recommendations. He is trained in diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound and ultrasound-guided injections, which can be used to determine the specific site of pain and so refine the diagnosis. Dr Sheridan is a tutor and faculty member for the FA’s ‘Advanced Trauma Medical Management in Football’ course, taught to doctors and physiotherapists from premier league clubs.

Dr Van Nierop sees patients at Blackberry Clinic Havant and Blackberry Clinic Ipswich. He has a special interest in acute and preventative medicine which ties in well with encouraging his patients to adopt a healthier lifestyle.

Blackberry Clinics North and East Jay is Area Manager for our Blackberry Clinics situated in the North and East of the UK. Jay has worked in health care for over 20 years and has completed leadership and management training courses. He has past experience of supporting over 120 staff under his supervision.

Jack Frere-Smith

Blackberry Clinic Ipswich and Blackberry Clinic Norwich Jack has a dual role as Centre Manager of Blackberry Clinic Ipswich and Blackberry Clinic Norwich. He is also an experienced Health Advisor. Jack has always been interested in ways to improve health and sport performance having grown up playing rugby and hockey. He studied Nutrition and Sport Science at St Mary’s University Twickenham.

Charlotte conducts Bupa health assessments at Blackberry Clinic Ipswich. She strives to help patients live and maintain a healthy balanced lifestyle to achieve general wellbeing. Charlotte is also a Personal Trainer and aims to educate her clients to lead a healthy, balanced lifestyle and learn how to fuel their day to day lives. She enjoys working with those looking to get back into fitness, and love helping people discover a passion for exercise.

I conduct Bupa health assessments at Blackberry Clinic. I encourage patients to live and create a healthy balanced lifestyle to achieve longevity. I am also a Personal Trainer; training my clients, creating programs and plans for them to live healthy balanced lifestyles. I work with individuals that have chronic health conditions to help improve everyday functional movement.
