Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon

Mr Alan Parbhoo

Mr. Alan Parbhoo is a consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon in Bedford and the Luton & Dunstable University Hospitals. He won the Gold Medal for the FRCS(OMFS) examination which is awarded to one candidate per year for the best performance throughout Great Britain and Ireland in the final intercollegiate specialty examination. After he completed higher surgical training he was appointed to a Royal College of Surgeons of England approved and fully accredited Cosmetic & Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship. He has completed post-graduate training in the use of medical lasers and is a member of the British Medical Laser Association. At Bedford Hospital he is Clinical Lead for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and Orthodontics, Lead of the Facial Deformity Multi-Disciplinary Team (Maxillofacial Surgery & Orthodontics) and Deputy Chair of the Skin Cancer Multi-Disciplinary Team (Dermatology, Maxillofacial Surgery, Oncology, Pathology & Plastic Surgery).

COSMETIC AND PLASTIC SURGEON

Mr Hazem Alfie

Mr Alfie has trained in plastic and cosmetic surgery for more than 15 years in the biggest plastic surgery centres in the UK and worldwide. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in London, a member of the European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic (Cosmetic) Surgeons, has a Master’s Degree in facial Cosmetic Surgery and Facelift Procedures and a Diploma in Hand Surgery. Mr Alfie has double qualifications in Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery from the Royal College of surgeons in London as well as from the European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery.

Consultant: Respiratory Medicine

Dr Amer Saleem

Dr. Saleem after graduation underwent training in general medicine and respiratory medicine in Pakistan. He has been working in respiratory medicine since 2006. Dr. Saleem came to the UK in 2010, since 2014 he has been working as a consultant Bedford Hospital and also holds an honorary consultant contract at UCLH. His main areas of interests are Tuberculosis, sarcoidosis, COPD, lung cancer and Endobronchial Ultrasound

Consultant Vascular Surgeon

Mr Arindam Chaudhuri

He qualified from the University of Calcutta in 1989, where he was later awarded the Master of Surgery degree. He then trained on the Cambridge higher surgical rotation, based at Huntingdon, Peterborough, Norwich and Cambridge, taking time to undertake research on arterial biomechanics in London. He had specialist endovascular training in Perth, Australia before returning to the NHS. As Honorary Consultant Vascular Surgeon, he is also part of the complex aortic team at St. Thomas’ Hospital, London. He also leads training on the internationally recognised Bedford Gore Viabahn Advanced Femoropopliteal Workshop and the Endologix Ovation Workshop. He has significant research interests with around 150 peer-reviewed publications, and is Associate Editor of the European Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, reviewer for major scientific journals such as CardioVascular and Interventional Radiology (CVIR), British Medical Journal (BMJ), Journal of EndoVascular Therapy, Journal of Neuroradiology, Catheterisation and Cardiovascular Interventions, and Oxford Medical Case Reports. He is the Principal Investigator for the UK-wide ETTAA trial and also the UK Chief Investigator for the multicentre international LUCY trial.

Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon -Hip and Knee Specialist

Mr Dan Arvinte

Mr Arvinte is a fully trained Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special interest in hip and knee replacement (lower limb arthroplasty), including revision (re-do) surgery. His training took place in well-recognised centres from Romania, Austria, Belgium, Japan, Hong Kong and United Kingdom. He has completed 2 Fellowships in Lower Limb Arthroplasty, one at Bradford Royal Infirmary (2006, including also specialist training in knee arthroscopy) and one at Warwick Hospital (2009-2010). He has been working as a Consultant at Bedford Hospital since 2015, where he has made a significant contribution in implementing changes and introducing new services, leading to improvement of quality of care and patient satisfaction.

Dr Mushin Almusawy

Trained in Scandanavian countries and also in many UK hospitals including MRI (Manchester Royal Infirmary), UCLH and Hammersmith Hospital.

Consultant Gastroenterologist

Dr Yasseen Al-Nae'eb

Dr Yasseen Al-Nae’eb graduated from the Medical College University of Baghdad in 1992. He started training in the UK in 2002 and was awarded MRCP-London in 2005. His training in Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine started in 2005 at St George’s Hospital in London. He completed the Higher Speciality Training in Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine in 2012, and was subsequently awarded MRCP in Gastroenterology. Dr Al-Nae’eb was appointed as a consultant in Bedford Hospital in April 2012. He is currently the lead for upper gastro-intestinal and pancreato-biliary cancers. His practice includes: Therapeutic Endoscopy, Hepatology, Pancreato-Biliary Diseases. He also has a large cohort of patients with Inflammatory Bowel Diseases.
