Dr Dawn Carnell
Dr Dawn Carnell is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist, based at University College Hospital, London. She is UCH's Clinical Lead for lung cancer and Lead Consultant Clinical Oncologist for head and neck cancer. Dr Carnell trained at the Royal Free Hospital in London and after completing her MRCP, she undertook oncology training at the Royal Marsden and Middlesex/University College Hospitals. Dr Carnell's formal research was at Mount Vernon Hospital, where she looked at hypoxia (low oxygen levels) in cancer and how this could be mapped histologically and using Blood Oxygen Level Dependent Magnetic Resonance Imaging. The future role for this would be to direct radiation boosts to radio-resistant hypoxic regions in cancer and to identify hypoxic tumours for specific treatments aimed at hypoxic cancer cells, resulting in improved cure rates. She is also the principal investigator for the PET-NECK trial looking at the role of early PET scanning to direct post radiation surgery and is involved in other research on the utility of respiratory gating in lung cancer. Other clinical interests include general ENT and Maxillofacial and in particular sinus cancer and therapies such as Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy, as well as concurrent chemoradiation protocols and the use of molecular targeted treatments. She also has a particular interest in sinus tumours. Dr Carnell also teaches and is one of the Lead Clinicians for Medical Student Teaching (the Head and Neck/Lung and CNS group)and contributes regularly to registrar teaching within oncology and ENT.

Professor Stefano Fedele
Stefano Fedele is Professor of Oral Medicine at University College London, Eastman Institute. He is Honorary Consultant in Oral Medicine and Facial Pain at University College London Hospitals NHS Trust, Royal National ENT and Eastman Dental Hospitals and also sees patients privately at The Harley Street Clinic. Professor Fedele has a strong interest in clinical and translational research and is Head of Department of Clinical Research at UCL Eastman Dental Institute and Research Lead for Oral and Dental Medicine studies at University College London Hospital. Dr Martin Forster
Martin graduated from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and gained general medical experience in New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom, becoming a member of the Royal College of Physicians (UK) in 2000. Since then he has been working in cancer care, training in Medical Oncology at the Oxford Radcliffe and Royal Marsden NHS Trusts. During this time, he achieved a PhD at the Institute for Cancer Research, London, and was awarded the EORTC-PAMM Young Investigator Award in 2004. He completed his specialist training in Medical Oncology in 2008 and was appointed as a UCL Clinical Senior Lecturer and UCH Consultant in Medical Oncology in 2009. Since then he has been running a research-based practice and has been principal/chief investigator for more than 20 early and late phase clinical trials. Martin is involved in the management of patients with both lung and head and neck cancers. He is interested in drug development and in using the increasing understanding of cancer biology to design studies that distinguish patient populations most likely to gain benefit from new drugs and new drug combinations. He has a particular interest in cancer biology that leads to the development of both lung and head and neck cancers.

Mr Nicholas Kalavrezos
Mr Nicholas Kalavrezos is a Head and Neck Reconstructive Surgeon with a background in Oral and Maxillo-Facial surgery. He is based at The Harley Street Clinic the University College London Hospital and The Princess Grace Hospital. He is also the Lead Head and Neck Sarcoma Surgeon for the London Sarcoma Service. He specialises in ablative and reconstructive surgery for the head and neck, with a clinical interest in the management of sarcomas. He also performs thyroid and facial trauma surgery, as well as "scarless" face lift treatment for salivary gland tumours. Mr Kalavrezos is a founding member of the Centre for Reconstructive Surgery at the University College London (UCL). He is actively involved in research into ‘tissue engineering bio-scaffolding' at the Nanotechnology Laboratory of UCL. He is regularly invited to lecture at conferences nationally and internationally and is the Secretary General of the European Association for Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery (EACMFS).

Professor Christopher Nutting is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist based at The Royal Marsden Chelsea and Sutton, where he has both a private and NHS practice. Professor Nutting completed his undergraduate training at the University of London in 1992 and he went on to become a member of the Royal College of Physicians and a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists. Professor Nutting qualified as an oncologist and achieved a Medical Doctorate at The Institute of Cancer Research, University of London. Professor Nutting has a special interest in medical education and in 2001 he was appointed Honorary Senior Lecturer in Clinical Oncology at The Institute of Cancer Research. In 2002 he assumed the role of Teacher at the University of London and Head of the Head and Neck Unit at The Royal Marsden. Professor Nutting is National Clinical Lead in Head and Neck Cancer for the UK Department of Health and the Cancer Services Collaborative. He is also President of the British Oncological Association and Chairman of the National Cancer Research Institute Committee for Head and Neck Cancer Research. Professor Nutting is heavily involved in research trials and he has published over 300 research articles in his speciality.

Dr Amen Sibtain
Dr Amen Sibtain is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist specialising in the management of Gastrointestinal, Hepatobiliary and Head and Neck cancers with chemotherapy and radiotherapy. He is also highly experienced in chemo-radiotherapy, state of the art radiotherapy techniques, including VMAT, stereotactic radiotherapy and radiosurgery, and intraoperative radiotherapy. Dr Sibtain was previously President of the Oncology Section of the Royal Society of Medicine, Programme Director for Clinical Oncology Specialist Training Committee for the London Deanery and Chairman of the Head and Neck Tumour Board for North East London. He was awarded an MD degree for his research in tumour hypoxia by the University of London. As well as his clinical work he remains actively involved in research. He has been published in a number of peer-reviewed journals and edited the books Towards the Prevention of Cancer (2007) and Physics for Clinical Oncologists (2012).
