Stephen Wordley joined the Basingstoke team in 2005 where he leads his experienced team, delivering a high level of customers care at all times.

Annette Owen

Annette has been with Leightons since 2012. She brings over 30 years of eye care experience to the branch, and is also Basingstoke's primary contact lens specialist.

Martina has been a friendly face at Leightons Basingstoke since 1996. She has a great wealth of clinical experience and is very good at putting people perfectly at ease, making her extremely popular with all our customers.

Hazel has been dispensing frames with Leightons Opticians since 1980, and has spent more than 20 of those years at Leightons Basingstoke. This fantastic depth of knowledge makes her very skilled in selecting the best style of frames for an individual.

Trishna joined Leightons Basingstoke in 2016. She is already part of the family and has brought a fresh, modern approach to the dispensing team.

Sally had always worked in customer-facing roles before joining our team at Leightons. She prides herself on her customer service skills, always seeking to exceed expectations. Outside of work, Sally enjoys… Reading, cooking and spending time with her partner and two girls.

Mark has been with Leightons since 2012. He has many years of dispensing experience and extensive product knowledge to help you choose your perfect frames, and is also the joker in the pack!

Audiologist & Hearing Aid Consultant

Caitlin Wakefield

It was Caitlin’s passion for helping people which led her towards a career within audiology and saw her undertake an Audiology degree, which she completed in 2015, whilst she was living in South Africa. Whilst in South Africa, Caitlin gained valuable experience working across a number of different roles, including a tuberculosis hospital, a school for the deaf and has even been able to help develop university courses on hearing loss and child development. In 2021, Caitlin decided to relocate to England from South Africa, where she began working with paediatrics and in the field of early intervention. Before starting at Leightons in January 2022, she spent some time working for the NHS. “I decided to join Leightons as I wanted to be in an environment that prioritises patient care, and allows me the opportunity to partner with patients to offer them the best level of service and ensure that their needs are met. I feel very fortunate that I am able to work with people to improve their connections with their loved ones.” Outside of work, Caitlin enjoys hiking with her partner and the outdoors. She can be often found exploring new hiking trails or curled up with a good book at the weekends.

Debbie had worked in the optical industry for five years before deciding to venture into the world of audiology as a Wax Removal Clinician at Leightons. Debbie loves life at Leightons because… She is able to provide her patients with a service that can really change their hearing and day-to-day life. She also loves to build a rapport with all her patients and the opportunity to do so is something she finds very rewarding. Outside of work, Debbie enjoys… Winding down in an evening with a bit of cross stitch, watching films (especially Marvel) and adores cats.

Clinical Scientist (Audiology) and Hearing Aid Consultant

Conor O'Kane

Conor joined the team at Leightons Hearing Care in October 2014 and brings with him fresh thinking on a range of hearing issues, including rehabilitating profound to severe hearing loss, as well as 5 years spent in one of the country’s most innovative NHS trusts. Conor has an extensive educational background in science, sound and technology. He completed his MSc in Southampton with distinction, and later his CAC, which equipped him with a broad knowledge depth in all areas of clinical audiology, including adult and paediatric assessment/rehabilitation services in conjunction with scientific research. He has presented his hearing research on several occasions at National Audiology Conferences. “For me, the key to success and satisfaction with hearing technology relies strongly on the relationship between the professional and their patient – a patient-centred approach. The hearing care packages and resources offered at Leightons are unique…The result is a very effective, flexible and bespoke, long-term hearing solution that I believe is one of the best available”.
