MARTIN LLOYD

Martin qualified as an Optometrist in 1980. He has worked in the contact lens industry before opening in Insight Opticians in 1988. He is a Past President of the British Contact Lens Association, and former visiting lecturer at City University. He is currently a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and The British Contact Lens Association and is a Medical Monitor for Contact Lens Research studies. Martin has a diploma in Sports Vision and has had Vision Screening and Advisory roles to WASPS RFC, Rugby League Referees and GB Hockey. He has lectured nationally and internationally on a range of Contact Lens and Sport Vision subjects. An accredited Orthokeratology Contact Lens fitter, this myopia stabilising technique further allows the practice to offer a more unique service.

DANIEL EDDOWES

Daniel began his career in the optical world as a Saturday boy for a high-street optical chain back in 2008. He then began to work his way up through the business, completing his qualification as a Dispensing Optician and then on to a role within management. “I decided to join the Leightons family because a good friend of mine (another branch manager) has always spoken so highly of the company. This made me very keen to apply for the position when it arose. I enjoy refining and developing my skills within Leightons, and having access to such a vast variety of fantastic frames and lenses will allow me to do so. I also love being integrated with a highly experienced and well-established team. Outside of work me and my wife have recently had a son, so most of my time is spent with him which I thoroughly enjoy. I also like to swim when I can and also go for walks or hikes occasionally.”

Hearing Aid Consultant

ASHISH SHAH (BSC RHAD)

Ashish’s first-hand family experience of hearing loss and the impact it can have on the lives of both the individual and their family led him to complete his four year Audiology BSc at the University of Manchester. After graduating, he worked within the NHS, gaining valuable clinical experience in adult hearing assessment and rehabilitation. Ashish moved to Leightons in order to have more time to spend with each patient, plus the freedom to work with a wider range of technologies. With more time to complete a thorough assessment, Ashish is able to tailor treatment plans to meet every patient’s individual needs. By using the latest technology, he is able to help minimise the impact of hearing loss on a patient’s quality of life. Outside work, Ashish’s main interests include football; he has played 5-a-side football regularly since university and is a passionate Aston Villa fan.

CORA YOUNG

Cora brings established customer service skills to her role in Marlow and loves giving patients the best possible experience when they visit. She is also fascinated by eye and hearing health and the important role they can play in the health of someone’s whole body. Cora loves being able to continually build her knowledge as part of the Leightons team, learning as much as she can about how to deliver the best possible care. In her spare time, Cora enjoys drawing and painting. She likes to be creative, and regularly challenges herself with trying something new.
