LEE JANES

Lee joined Leightons in 1984 as a trainee dispensing Optician, and qualified fully in 1987. In 1995 Lee became manager of Leightons Woodley branch and over many years worked hard to develop it into one of the most successful practices in the group. Lee puts much of the success down to the effectiveness of his team. Appointed to the position of Area Manager in 2011 Lee continues to build effective, hard working teams across the group. Lee is a passionate Amateur Archaeologist – and completed a part time Archaeology Degree in 2011. In his spare time as well as ‘digging’, Lee loves watching his older two sons play football; and gets great satisfaction at making Lego models with his 8 year old son! AMANDA DEVENEY (BSC RHAD)

After graduating with a degree in Audiology from the University of Southampton in 2015, Amanda spent three years working as a Clinical Audiologist for the NHS. During this time, Amanda gained valuable clinical expertise and patient-focused experience while working in adult rehabilitation, tinnitus therapy and assisting the ENT department. “As I was born with a hearing impairment, I experienced the benefits of personalised hearing care first-hand. It is the importance of continuity of care that led me to Leightons. Working with Leightons is enjoyable because I have the time to ensure all my patient’s needs are met to the best of my ability. I also have the opportunity to work with and offer a wide variety of top-end hearing aid technology, as well as providing continued aftercare and support. In my spare time, I enjoy playing netball competitively for two district teams, as well as walking my two dogs. I also have a passion for travelling and have been lucky enough to have visited Asia and Australia.”

When Elise first joined Leightons Winchester, she quickly built up a large following of very happy patients who love her calm, confident style and depth of contact lens knowledge. She left to have her daughter and we are thrilled to now have her back with us three days a week.

Natasha has worked for Leightons for many years, and has just returned to the team from maternity leave. Natasha loves to bake in her spare time and often delights us with her creations that she brings in for us all to enjoy!

NAINA CESAR

Naina began her career within optics working for an independent practice where she completed her pre-registration. She then moved to the Royal Eye Unit in Kingston where she fitted and dispensed all types of contact lenses. Following this Naina then decided to move back to her first practice where she stayed for 19 years before relocating to Winchester and joining the Leightons family. “Having worked in an independent practice for some time, I joined Leightons because the business ethos is very similar to my own. Leightons always puts the patient first, and really values delivering the highest standards of care. I love the opportunities Leightons gives me to learn every day, and dispense the very best frames and lenses with my vast knowledge of the area. Outside of work, I enjoy gardening, keeping healthy and turning my hand to a bit of D.I.Y.”

LAUREN MACEY

Lauren is one of our longest-standing members of the team having joined us in 2013, she is a familiar face to most of our lovely patients and enjoys helping everyone with their queries. Lauren is great at sunglasses styling and is more than happy to assist you in finding that perfect pair. In her spare time, Lauren enjoys reading and shopping and lives with her husband and cat Ziggy in Southampton.

Jane is new to our team and brings with her a passion for outstanding customer care. Loving a new challenge, Jane has recently started mountain biking, gathering a few bruises along the way! She also enjoys long walks in the countryside and has also taken up painting. Her mantra is "never grow up - stay young forever!".

“I decided to join Leightons because I wanted a change from working in retail, and this looked like a fantastic opportunity to show off my skill set and progress within the optical industry. Outside of work, film is one of my biggest passions having graduated with a degree in film from University. I am also an avid street photographer and enjoy skating on my longboard.”

FRANCES SHAW

Before joining the team at Leightons Winchester, Frances spent a year volunteering at the British Heart Foundation. “When I first joined the Winchester team, everyone I met was extremely welcoming, the practice was spotlessly clean and all the customers seemed thrilled with the service they received, so I knew I was in the right place! Within my role, I always look forward to serving patients and providing them with the highest levels of customer service. In my spare time, I like to draw, usually from photos that I have taken. I also run a small business, selling greeting cards and prints I have designed.”
