TIM BARRETT FBDO (HONS) CL

Tim qualified as a Contact Lens Optician in 1990 and went on to achieve an Honours Fellowship at City & Islington College. He has been in Private Practice since then. In 1996 Tim went on to establish Leightons first franchise in the heart of Wokingham. He holds routine contact lens clinics but also specialises and has a wealth of experience in Therapeutic Contact Lenses, Myopia Management, Multifocal Contact Lenses, Complex prescriptions (including high levels of Myopia, Hyperopia, Astigmatism and Keratoconic Prescriptions). In his free time he enjoys mountain biking and participating in Park Runs.

Joint Franchisee and Dispensing Optician

LINDSEY JAMES FBDO

Lindsey qualified in 1999 as a Dispensing Optician at City & Islington College and went on to manage various Leightons Limited Practices before moving to Wokingham to join Tim and the team as Tim’s Co-Director. Lindsey is a highly experienced Dispenser with a passion for frame design and problem solving, who specialises in myopia management in spectacles for young people. Her hobbies include Skiing and she more recently obtained her Open Water Diving qualification.

Audiologist

OLIVIA BYERS (FDSC RHAD)

Olivia has been working as Hearing Aid Audiologist since 2014, working with both private and NHS clients in a variety of settings. She enjoys overcoming the challenges around the stigmas associated with hearing loss, and being part of a rapidly evolving technological landscape. Her passion in audiology is to provide the best patient-centred care possible, which is what attracted her to joining Leightons in the first place! In her spare time, Olivia enjoys cooking, reading and video games, and is currently learning to play the saxophone.

Jackie is usually the first person to greet you or take your call at Leightons Wokingham. She began working for Leightons in 1977 as a receptionist at Leightons Woodley when Tim Barrett was a trainee there. After a break to travel with her Forces husband, she returned in 2000 to Leightons Wokingham and has been there ever since! Jackie covers all reception matters, processes contact lens orders and assists the audiologist with general hearing aid repairs.

LINDSAY DOBNEY

Lindsay has been at Leightons Wokingham since September 2000. Originally she worked as a receptionist, but in recent years completed her Optical Diploma and now deals with branch returns, credit control, frame styling, general administration, assists the dispensing opticians as needed and performs tuition appointments for new contact lens wearers.

SALMAN CHATTA

Salman joined the Leightons team as a highly skilled audiologist following his time managing a large hearing care clinic in North London. Salman loves life at Leightons because… “Leightons put such an emphasis on patient-centred care, with longer appointment times and a commitment to every single patient, regardless of who they are. I also love working as part of a bigger team with everyone collectively doing their part.” Outside of work, Salman enjoys… Playing chess, boxing and going on short weekend trips away to Europe.
