Dr. Helen Robertshaw FRCP

I have been a Consultant Dermatologist for 16 years, my practice covers all aspects of Dermatology and I specialise in skin cancer diagnosis and management. I am a Consultant at the Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals, where I was for many years the skin cancer Lead Clinician and led the skin surgery unit. I developed the Mohs surgery unit which provides the service for Dorset. I am passionate about skincare and skin products. I believe that all skin can be improved and that most people do not get the right advice on skincare. At Southface Skin Clinic, we also provide a full range of cosmetic dermatology procedures and laser treatments. We have a great team in the clinic and you can be assured that you will only receive honest, sensible advice. Qualifications Bachelor of Science (Honours) Human Biology. Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians. Where I Trained Kings College University of London. I did further training in Dermatology on the South Coast and have been practising Dermatology for many years. During my training, I undertook research at the University of Southampton based around the chemicals involved in itch and also acne management. I have been a Consultant at Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals for 16 years. I have over 15 years experience in clinical dermatology in the UK and have been working at the Royal Bournemouth hospital since 2006. I currently hold the position of Skin Cancer Lead and Surgical lead at the Dermatology Unit at Christchurch Hospital. I also am the Dermatology lead for the combined Psoriasis clinic. I have been a close colleague of Dr Robertshaw for many years. My specialist interests are skin cancer , skin surgery and psoriasis. I am a Consultant Dermatologist, appointed to University Hospitals Dorset. My practice encompasses all areas of general dermatology including acne, eczema, psoriasis and other inflammatory skin disease, as well as benign and malignant skin lesions and sun damage. I am passionate about providing a caring, up to date and patient-centred Dermatology service. I am a trained Skin Cancer Nurse Specialist and Dermatology Specialist Nurse. I have worked for a decade in my clinical roles at University Hospital Dorset and bring my experience of skin assessment, surveillance and monitoring by means of mole mapping. Additionally I support patients with their treatment choices and encourage a positive attitude and guidance towards skin cancer protection and prevention. Where I Trained I trained at Bournemouth University and worked initially as a Community Nurse with a special interest in Tissue Viability. Amanda Carr

Amanda has worked as a staff nurse for the NHS in a variety of clinical settings ranging from acute medical wards to community hospital settings and palliative care. In 1998 Amanda started working for the private sector as a Nursing Sister for a cosmetic/dermatology clinic in Harley Street, London. She then went on to become a laser nurse specialist at Ashtead hospital in Surrey where she worked for over 13 years before moving down to the South Coast. Amanda keeps up to date with her continuing professional development by attending regular study/training days and conferences. Since living in Bournemouth, Amanda has continued working as a Nurse in the aesthetic field, specialising in laser treatments and skin care. Sharon Gallagher

Since leaving the NHS, Sharon has had various roles in the pharmaceutical industry, latterly working in aesthetic medicine since 2006. She has been involved in training other health care professionals in the art of facial re-volumisation and skin rejuvenation. Sharon is now offering a professional and personal service of medically selected treatments tailored to your individual needs at Southface Skin Clinic. She specialises in Dermal fillers, Sculptra and wrinkle relaxing treatments. Where I Trained Portsmouth and qualified in 1984. Memberships Member of the British Association of Cosmetic Nurses (BACN), Sharon attends regular training and update meetings, all our nurses are fully qualified and insured Registered General Nurses.
