Dr Sam Firoozi
Dr Sam Firoozi is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at St George’s Hospital in London. He graduated in 1995 from Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospitals Medical School and subsequently completed his medical and cardiology training in several London teaching hospitals. In 1999 he was awarded a British Heart Foundation Fellowship enabling clinical research into heart muscle disease and sports cardiology at St George’s University of London. Between 2002 and 2008, Dr Firoozi completed training in general and interventional cardiology, including an interventional cardiology fellowship at St George’s Hospital. This lead to his appointment as consultant general and interventional cardiologist in 2009. He has a special interest in high-risk coronary intervention and structural heart intervention, including TAVI. He has developed a very high-volume interventional practice and regularly consults a large number of patients. Dr Firoozi is also involved in higher medical education for undergraduate and postgraduate students and has run training courses. He is also an active member of several organisations including The British Cardiovascular Society (BCS) and The British Cardiac Interventional Society (BCIS) and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicans.

Konstantinos Savvatis is a Consultant Cardiologist in the Inherited Cardiovascular Diseases Unit at Barts Heart Centre in London and Honorary Associate Professor in University College London and Queen Mary University London. He trained at the Department of Cardiology at the Charité University Hospital in Berlin, Germany, one of the largest centres in Europe focusing on dilated and inflammatory cardiomyopathy. He acquired his PhD on the immunomodulatory role of matrix metalloproteinases in acute myocarditis and continued working as Clinician Scientist at the Charité and the Centre for Regenerative Therapies focusing on the role of fibrosis and fibroblasts in heart failure and cardiomyopathy. His main clinical and academic interests are genetic and inflammatory cardiomyopathies and, especially, the risk assessment and therapy of patients with dilated cardiomyopathy, hypertrophic and arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy, myocarditis and cardiac involvement in Neuromuscular Conditions (limb girdle, Duchenne and Becker’s muscular dystrophy, myotonic dystrophy, Friedreich’s ataxia). He is specialised in advanced cardiovascular MRI and echocardiography. His work has been published in several high impact journals, such as Nature Communications, Circulation, Circulation Research, JACC and European Heart Journal.

Dr Nick Linton
Dr Nick Linton works as a consultant Cardiologist specializing in heart rhythm problems. It is a field he finds hugely rewarding. Dr Linton treats patients who have a wide range of presentations, such as palpitation, chest pain, shortness of breath, or collapses. He performs cardiac ablation procedures and pacemaker implantation. Before pursuing a career in medicine Nick Linton obtained a master's degree in engineering, economics and management from Oxford University. After a period developing new cardiac output monitoring technology, he then studied medicine at King's College, London and qualified with distinction in 2002. He obtained membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians (MRCP) and trained in cardiology at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (St Mary's and Hammersmith hospitals), St Thomas' Hospital and also completed a clinical fellowship in Bordeaux, a world renowned centre for cardiac electrophysiology. Dr Linton is an expert in clinical assessment, investigation as well as invasive procedures for heart problems. As a cardiologist with a background in engineering, he utilised this unique experience in medical research. He has a particular interest in ablation treatments using 3D Mapping technologies. He has developed a leading cardiac mapping system with colleagues at Imperial College.

Dr Kanaganayagam is a Cardiologist and Honorary Senior Lecturer in Cardiology for Imperial and Chelsea and Westminster NHS Trusts and also offers private consultations. Dr Punit Ramrakha is a Consultant Cardiologist with over 20 years of experience. Professor Ronak Rajani is a Consultant Cardiologist in heart valve disease and advanced cardiac imaging based at The Harley Street Clinic, part of HCA Healthcare UK. He has a specialist interest in patients with heart failure, inherited cardiac conditions, patients needing structural heart interventions and cardiac surgery. He assesses the overall cardiovascular risk and the detection of coronary disease in patients and is currently the Chairperson for Cardiac Imaging Stream across HCA Healthcare UK, London. Professor Rajani is currently the cardiology lead for cardiac computed tomography (CT) at the Guy’s Valve Clinic and Professor of Cardiovascular Imaging at King’s College London. He serves as the NIHR speciality group lead for cardiovascular services across south London and is the representative for the Royal College of Physicians and the British Cardiovascular Society for South East London. Dr Amal Muthumala
Dr Amal Muthumala is a highly qualified Consultant Cardiologist with clinical interests in several areas of cardiology, including heart failure, device implantation, chest pain, palpitation, breathlessness, syncope, hypertension, valvular heart disease, atrial fibrillation, coronary artery disease, and cardiac risk assessment. Dr Muthumala received his medical degree from the University of Cambridge in 2001, and he has worked in London before training in general cardiology at the Oxford deanery. He completed specialist fellowships in Complex Devices and Advanced Heart Failure in Calgary, Canada, and at the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital. He earned his MD (Res) in Cardiovascular Genetics from University College London in 2009 and became a certified cardiac device specialist in 2012. In 2014, he was awarded his CCT in cardiology. Dr Muthumala has held several leadership roles in the past, including Clinical Lead for Heart Failure at North Middlesex Hospital. Currently, he serves as the Clinical Lead for Devices at Barts Heart Centre. He is also a member of the British Society of Heart Failure and a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians. With his extensive experience and qualifications, Dr Muthumala is a highly respected cardiologist in the UK.

Dr Vinit Sawhney
Dr Vinit Sawhney is a Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist who completed her medical degree at the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, India in 2004. She moved to the UK and completed her specialist training in Cardiology at a number of London's top teaching hospitals, including North Middlesex University Hospital and St Bartholomew's Hospital. She then undertook research surrounding ventricular arrhythmias and telomere biology at Queen Mary University of London and was awarded a MD for her work in 2013. Dr Sawhney entered the specialist register as a Cardiologist in 2018. After receiving her CCT, she completed a post-CCT fellowship in Cardiac Electrophysiology and Adult Congenital Heart Disease at St Bartholomew's Hospital in 2019 and was appointed as a Locum Consultant at the hospital in the same year. Dr Sawhney specialises in Adult Congenital Disease and is the current Electrophysiology Governance Lead at the Barts Heart Centre. Outside of her clinical work, Dr Sawhney is an active researcher with current research interests in ablation strategies and mapping in adult congenital heart disease patients, as well as the use of telomere biology for risk stratification of arrhythmias.
